Uniform FIR approximation of causal Wiener filters, with applications to causal coherence

چکیده
Leveraging the relationship between Wiener filtering and the coherence function, a version of coherence is defined that captures the causal relationship between WSS processes. This causal coherence is interpreted in a modeling context and used to demonstrate what a frequency dependent measure for causality both can and can’t represent. To understand how well frequency dependent coherence spectra can be estimated with finite order approximations, the convergence of the FIR causal Wiener filters to the full IIR causal Wiener filter is investigated as filter length goes to infinity. The main results prove L convergence of the frequency responses for p = 1, 2,∞ under certain Hölder continuity conditions on the power spectra, as well as give asymptotic upper bounds for the convergence error.

Limitations of Fir Multi-microphone Speech Dereverberation in the Low-delay Case
In this paper multi-microphone dereverberation is considered under the constraint that no or little additional delay should be introduced by the FIR deconvolution filters. This is crucial for a number of applications such as hearing aids etc. Assuming that the acoustic impulse responses (AIRs) are known – e.g. by estimation, we determine the maximum degree of attainable dereverberation. Even th...
متن کاملInterstitial fluid glucose time-lag correction for real-time continuous glucose monitoring
Time lag between subcutaneous interstitial fluid and plasma glucose decreases the accuracy of realtime continuous glucose monitors. However, inverse filters can be designed to correct time lag and attenuate noise enabling the blood–glucose profile to be reconstructed in real time from continuous measurements of the interstitial-fluid glucose. We designed and tested a Wiener filter using a set o...
متن کامل2-d Fir Wiener Efilter Realizations Using Orthogonal Lattice Structures
The authors propose a new realization algorithm for the 2-D FIR Wiener filters. The reduced-order 2-D orthogonal lattice filter structure is used as its principal component as in the 1-D case. A numerical example is included to verify the formulation. Introduction: One-dimensional (1-D) lattice structures have been wiedly used, as a subsystem, to solve FIR Wiener filtering problem. The lattice ...
متن کاملCausal Fir Filter Banks with Arbitrary System Delay
A design method for causal bi-orthogonal PR FIR M -band filter banks is described, which allows an explicit control over system delay, independent of the filter length, with the lowest possible delay equal to the blocking delay of M 1 samples. The design method is very general and can be applied to non-uniform filter banks but also treats uniform modulated filter banks as a special case.
متن کاملLinear Models of Nonlinear FIR Systems with Gaussian Inputs
We show a result that can be viewed as a generalization of Bussgang’s classic theorem about static nonlinearities with Gaussian inputs. This new result is used to characterize the best linear approximation of a nonlinear finite impulse response (NFIR) system with a Gaussian input. The best linear approximation is here defined as the causal LTI system that minimizes the expected squared predicti...
